My notes are a little thin so these notes are also going to be a little short. Sorry. We did talk about some Throne of Eldraine spoilers and what took us away from Magic and the show over the summer.
We had to return because Claudia Black (our Hottie of the Show) was soooo bored.
It is that rare time of the year once again where Travis and I managed to talk for more than a 3 text message conversation. Maybe with all the Modern Horizons spoilers dropping it won’t be too much longer before we get the next one out. But who am I trying to kid it will be as soon as I can get Travis on some kind of schedule.

Our troll hottie is Dominique Provost-Chalkley, from the show Wynonna Earp. I have fallen in love with this show hard. It is Buffy meet the O.K. Corral and it is amazing. The first 2 seasons are on Netflix now and looks like season 3 is about to start so sit back and enjoy the ride.

In what little free time I have had this last week or two I have been rewatching Rick and Morty. In honor of that wonderful show and all the shit falling out of the sky, this week’s hottie is Beth Smith!

Our Troll hottie is Samius’ pick this week. So I have been watching Krypton on Syfy. First hands down the best Superman show ever. Mainly because he is not around/not born yet. And two the balance of strong leads is amazing. I know I should be on a Marvel kick having just seen the new Avengers movie over the weekend and I will be again soon for now I am just floored by Wallis Day’s Nyssa-Vex. I love a good villian and I think this girl is one of the biggest of the bads on the show. Playing all the sides like a master. Also I love a girl that can pull off short hairstyles with ease.
I can’t find a ton of gifs of Day that look very different but here is one of her still shots that just screams “Tell me again about your turn 2 kill, Travis.”
I don’t have a lot in the way of notes for this week’s show. There is a brawl list and I will try and have a new one each week for the next few shows. I am really liking the format and think it will be a ton of fun to play with. I am starting to see the appeal of the commander format for people that are more versed in Magic than I am.
I also cut out a derailing conversation from the MP3 version of the show. The whole thing is over on my youtube channel so if you want to see what you missed that is where you want to go. But if not I think there is a good show with just the MP3.
This is my first crack at Brawl, think I was 2 out of 3 games with it.
Almost forgot, this week’s Hottie is Evangeline Lilly in honor of the fast-approaching Avenger’s Movie and even more exciting Antman and the Wasp movie!

This week show had a little bad brewing a run down of U/W Auras in action and some shit about how Travis can more or less open whatever he wants when ever he wants.

This by the way is Martha Higareda, our Troll Hottie of the week. She has been around for a while but is currently the female lead in Altered Carbon on Netflix. Just an amazing show. Martha is an amazing as Kristin Ortega aka Bad Ass Cop.
This week we have a guest on, Good Hunter aka Ling Ling. I didn’t name him that send your hate mail to him. Mainly Hunter had a good finish at a bigger event for this area and I wanted to treat him to the 2 Troll experience aka mock him and question his manhood. Mission accomplished.

We also get deeper into the wish/tutor style of Mastermind’s Acquisition. I would promise to not talk about Acquisition next week but I don’t want to be an oath breaker.
This week’s Troll Hottie is Maisie Richardson-Sellers. Maisie has become one of my favorite actresses. She first fell on my radar as Eva Sinclair on The Originals what can I say I do love a good villain. But her role as Vixen on Legends of Tomorrow really takes the cake. I thought she had moved on when she went home on Legends at the end of last season but thankfully not. And she is back kicking ass and taking names.
This week we talk a little about how our PPTQ went last weekend, spoiler alert not great. I had a ton of fun but it wasn’t our day to take home an invite. We also talk about the fact that I ordered some pauper cards. And looked at how pauper is taking the world by storm.
Actual reason for looking at the shownotes: Stella Maeve, I have taken to watching a show on SyFy The Magicians. Clearly, I have gone back in time and am a writer for this show. Every time I think okay that is about as messed up as I can see a SyFy show going, I think to myself “But wouldn’t it be amazing to go farther and do X?” Then they F*ing do it. Highly enjoy the show and a big part of that enjoyment is some of the eye candy just being completely willing to go to the extremes.
Not going to say that, Julia (Stella’s role) is hot, even though she is, but that joke is just too easy. No, she is intimidating as hell finding her inner planeswalker right before kidnapping a smuck. The show is great highly recommend it.
There is a window were Julia is missing part of her soul, and killing a forest of treants is the quickest way to victory. So she burns the forest to the ground. Yep, Hot.

This week we really talk about the fallout from all the WoTC changes have had in the last year or so. Sales are down collection values are falling and I had a short man draft this last week. I mean talk about cats and dogs living together…
We also talk about the Christine Sprankle situation which seems crazy to me but I don’t know all that much about it to be really honest. But I love cosplayers and I am not a fan of bullies. That is on all sides. Two Wrongs don’t make a right. So let people know that you disagree but don’t be a jerk.

Now for something pleasant, I loved the OG Charmed TV show. Okay mostly I loved the Piper character played by Holly Marie Combs, and with the reboot looking like it is right around the corner I want to remind everyone of this amazing lady by making her the Troll Hottie of the show!
So I am not sure how I didn’t get this show posted back when we tapped it. All I can say is that I have had migraine issues for the last few weeks and my side effects include memory loss. When in dought blame your illness. Covered.

Sorry for the lateness but the wife is on vacation and that means I am on yes dear mode for fear of waking up 3 inches shorter.
This week we dive deep into what makes icecream dumb if tasty and spoiler it is the name. In other news this week our Troll Hottie of the week is Aimee Garcia.
In other news, Travis and I are fighting on the nickname for Jace, Cunning Castaway. I think Fabulous Jace and Travis likes Jace Sparrow.
Otherwise, we open up about our thoughts on the recent tournament results like we just found a foot in a box.
I don’t know about you but finding the Shifter race a home that makes sense has been a lot harder then some of the other races have been over the years. The Bearbarian was a good fit, but not great. But I really love the Howler Clonkey.
The way I have been leveling the build over on my live streams has been very DC caster/staff melee lite with sick CC leaning on the Falconry and Shifter Racial trees. I gather groups of mobs and Howl effectly giving me a mass hold, followed up with Coordinated Strike blinding the mass of trash allowing No Mercy to boost my damage, repeat Howl as needed and allow strikethrough to win.
Howl of Terror in the Shifter tree is the real deal at least while leveling. Wildhunt Howl helps boost saves slightly giving the Clr’s low reflex save a needed boost when shooting around traps, Wildhunt is a tasty bonus to spell points and +2 to wisdom in the core boosts To hit/Damage and spell Dcs.
Falconry tree is full of goodies that likely doesn’t need a full run down, but main stat to hit/damage as well as insight bonus to dmg, tacticals and a high non-blue bar powered insta-kill effect is very solid.
Nombo’s: Howl of Terror does not make helpless so No Mercy needs a hand to boost your damage. Wildhunt Rage turns off your stance so Ocean Stance will need to be turned back on or you forget and get a pratical negitive 2 to your wisdom and -3 to dodge. After a few times of forgetting to restart the stance I just stopped raging.
Upfront: I almost have my racial completionist feat and the racial action point tome meaning diving deep in the racial tree is cheep for me. You may have to give up some points elsewhere but Howl of Terror is value and what makes this build sing. If necessary to make cuts for more AP, start with the points in the Kensei, shave some from Quick Strike and then dip in to Holy Striker. Keeping that wisdom high is key to your crowd control.
Leveling Progression:
A level of Monk, followed by 11 levels of Cleric, a second Monk level, then Cleric until you really really want that fighter level for Greater 2 Handed Fighting. For me that was level 20. You might want to move it up. I know I wanted to fairly often but I was able to stay strong and left it for that taking 20 power boost. Moving it up pushes Implosion that much further away. If you are going from 18 to 20 have that extra 30% strikethrough and ability modifier damage scaling might be more valuable then a spell you will not cast until level 20. I normally spend a little while at 19 just to see how the level plays for the stream.
Stats:
We are a wisdom build clearly that is the most important, then we want enough strength for the 2HF feat line (15 and a +2 tome) then Con for them HPs. You are a melee lite after all. Here is the standard chart for stats as I saw them.

Is this build “end game viable” I don’t know. A viewer I tend to trust for these things said not really. But I think getting your CC DCs into range is not just doable but likely quite easy. My evening of playing in the post lvl 20 world was turn on an epic destiny and setting the twists then heading to do a couple of The Lords of Dust/Evening Star quests R1 for a little xp to try and get to 21. Then lets go do Legendary Reaper 6 Feywilds. Being level 21/22 in LR6 Feywilds was not as helpful for build testing as it could have been but fun never the less.
I want to stress that my lvl 1-20 play was very pleasing. The nombos are not as in your face as some of the other shifter builds I have been trying and felt like a good platform for the hard to place shifter race. At least for me anyway.
